About ExtraFax Product Features
The major features of ExtraFax could be summarized below:
- ExtraFax puts communication at your fingertips by bringing faxes and e-mail into a single product.
- ExtraFax sends and receives incoming and outgoing faxes via any Web browser or Lotus Notes client desktop.
- Prints from any Windows application and sends the output to a fax device through ExtraFax Print-to-Fax driver (available on a full spectrum of MS Windows platforms ranging from Windows 98/ME, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000/XP/2003).
- ExtraFax supports Fax-on-demand (FOD). Integrated with basic Interactive Voice Response (IVR) features, ExtraFax serves fax information (e.g. company profile, application forms, reports) automatically.
- High fidelity fax via a simple attach and send operation. Attachments would be rasterized and faxed via native applications installed on ExtraFax server.
- Aims at a zero cost of ownership - ExtraFax is designed from the ground up as a true 32-bit application and operates either as a Lotus Notes/ Domino Server add-in task or as a standalone process on a Lotus Notes client workstation. The decoupling of data directory (machine where ExtraFax PostOffice resides) from server directory (machine where ExtraFax Server runs) provides added flexibility in your overall system planning and design.
- Allows remote administration of the fax server through a standard Notes client or any Web browser over the internet/ intranet.
- Auto-ports sensing, auto-detection of port configuration changes, automatic PO database compact are a few examples of built-in administration capabilities designed to ease installation, administration and management of the fax server.
- Enables remote access of the status of fax jobs (both completed or job-in-queue fax) over the internet/ intranet.
- Highly customizable and configurable through user profile form. Advanced customization can be performed through LotusScript
- Outgoing job control features like auto-redial on busy signal, retry until a certain date/time and retry for a certain number of hours are supported. In addition, senders will be informed of the latest status of their fax jobs.
- Supports scheduled transmissions and job priority - allows you to send faxes at a later time to save telephone costs and prioritizes your fax jobs.
- Access control to allow selected users to send international or long distance faxes. In addition, User will be able to define who can/cannot use the ExtraFax Server in the Access Control List.
- Least Cost Routing through the internet/ intranet that may reduce your long distance phone bills.
- Call accounting and statistics - accesses statistics through a Web browser or export statistics as an ASCII text file for cost allocation and accounting.
- Supports a wide variety of fax modems, fax cards and fax file formats.
- Extensive event logging and error reporting. Supports integration with NotesView.
- Improved fax queuing algorithm that allows for automatic load balancing by distributing the fax job loads between several PO servers, according to the level of job load on each server, to improve performance.
- Added capability for the user to fine tune the performance of the Fax routing services but allowing the user to set parameters like Bulk Fax size, Large Fax Breakdown number and Fax Priority Promotion period.
